Katarzyna Anna Chrzanowska

I am a ceramic designer based in Trondheim, working under the name KashQ Design. I hold a Master’s degree in Ceramic Design from the Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław, Poland (2010). My artistic practice is closely connected to environmental, ecological and humanistic themes. Through ceramic sculpture, I explore processes of impermanence, transformation and decay cycles that reflect the fundamental conditions of life, from emergence to disappearance. My work investigates the tension between opposing states: fullness and emptiness, constraint and freedom, stability and change. I am particularly interested in how material can embody both vulnerability and resilience within a broader social and natural context. I often combine ceramics with other media to create contrasts between refinement and rawness, elegance and rusticity, expanding the expressive potential of each material.
