Garment, textiles, and food meet and mingle on time-consuming processes where my body is my most valuable tool. Cotton, leather, silk, beans and seaweed are accidental encounters of fragmented lives embedded in food memories and an ambiguous cultural identity. I am drawn towards what lives outside of our awareness, particularly in the lives of others—the creatures that live not only out there but between walls and under our feet.
